Martial arts training meets a relaxing holiday in a breathtaking setting!

"Registration for Summer 2026 is now open!"

Every summer, the Phénix & Dragon School organises its Summer Camp — a one-week training in July bringing together practitioners from France and Europe for an immersion in Chinese Martial Arts. We practise together, outdoors, in nature: Kung Fu, Taiji Quan, Qi Gong, Ba Gua, sword work, meditation, etc., and benefit from the precious instruction of Master Ming Yue!

Outdoors, in nature

In a beautiful region

This camp is open to everyone:

  • Adults beginners who are motivated, confirmed practitioners, instructors or simply curious!
  • Children and teenagers who wish to discover and initiate themselves, or progress, while having fun! Check the dedicated page for children/teens.

With family or friends, you can enjoy every day a wide choice of classes!

Go see the videos presenting the editions of previous Summer Camps if you’d like to see how it works!

Practice

Self-connection

Warm atmosphere

The classes combine physical practice, a return to oneself, and conviviality in an exceptional natural setting.

We were delighted to welcome Master Ming Yue, 15th-generation disciple of the Wudang Xuan Wu Pai, for two rich editions of transmission. He guided us in Taoist meditation at dawn. He taught us the very elegant Qi Xing Jian form, the 7-star Wudang sword, which blends softness and power. He taught us Xiao Yao Zhang in Taiji, with its graceful spirals. He also introduced us to Tui Shou, and Ba Gua. What a programme! A deep work combining technique and spirituality.

The previous editions were led by the instructors of our Phénix et Dragon school and our partner associations (NOFODRA in Oslo, Wushu Feng in Ardèche, Yin Yang Wushu in Asnières-sur-Seine, etc.). We explored different styles and forms, in Taiji, in Qi Gong, in Kung Fu, unarmed or with weapons.

See you in summer 2026 for a new edition of the Summer Camp, from Saturday 4 to Saturday 11 July 2026!

In addition to the classes offered by Master Ming Yue, for adults, we will again offer two morning classes of 45 minutes, for children from 5-6 years old, and teenagers, to initiate themselves in the basics, but above all to learn to use their energy and channel it, while having fun, with the Laser Sword, Nunchaku, Staff, and Sanda, among others! Go see our dedicated children/teens page.

And obviously, we will again have our day off to rest or do outings.

We reserve several fully-equipped cottages for 4-6 persons at Camping Capfun Imbourg, in Larnas in Ardèche (30 minutes from the Gorges de l’Ardèche and Vallon Pont d’Arc).

The campsite is located near historic and natural sites such as the famous Pont d’Arc or the cave “La Chauvet”, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list! You can discover the cultural and natural heritage of Ardèche, and try a descent of the Gorges de l’Ardèche by canoe-kayak or a walk in its many charming villages such as Vallon Pont d’Arc or Saint Montan. You can book your own cottage, or a spot in a cottage that you share with other participants. You may also choose not to stay at the campsite and find accommodation nearby. A stay in an apartment for 4 persons (2 bedrooms) costs around €1,000-1,200 for 7 nights, and includes access to all campsite amenities.

For children, the Domaine d’Imbours has 2 large aquatic areas including pools, thrill slides and fun paddling pools, as well as inflatable castles, a tree-top adventure trail, which entertain young and older alike. In the evening, those who wish can find various shows… Kids even have an on-site babysitter!

Master Ming Yue

For several years we have had the great privilege of receiving teaching from the Taoist monk Ming Yue, a warrior monk who grew up in the famous Wudang Mountains. Immersed in the practice of Taoist martial arts from his earliest age, he excels in the internal arts of Qi Gong, Taiji Quan, Xingyi Quan and Bagua Zhang, both unarmed and with weapons.

He practised many years with the famous master Tian Li Yun, heir of the 15th generation of the Xuan Wu style of Wudang, of which he became disciple at age 15. Now heir of the 16th generation of Wudang Xuan Wu, he opened in 2012 his own school, Xuan Wu Gongfu, with his fellow-disciple Liu Song. There he teaches martial arts and Taoist practice according to the principles of Taiji and Tao, the two founding elements of Wudang culture.
